Mrs. Allen served 17 years in the Jamaica financial sector prior to assuming her current position of CEO of the Consumer Affairs Commission in 2003.  Between June 2009 and December 2013, she served as President of the Caribbean Consumer Council (incorporated in St. Lucia).

A former member of the Pharmacy Council, she currently serves as a member of the E-Prescribing/Dispensing Advisory Committee (EPDAC), the Standards Council – Bureau of Standards Jamaica, the Telecommunications Appeals Tribunal, the North Street Seventh Day Adventist Church Board and the Board of the New Hope Preparatory.

Mrs. Allen does volunteer work with inner-city projects (welfare, health and education) through her affiliation with the North Street Seventh Day Adventist Church.
