Foolproofing Your Management System: Writing Nonconformities that Lead to Effective Corrective Action (Module 2)

Course Description

This course covers the rudimentary principles of Quality management system (QMS) auditing that influence writing effective nonconformity statements and the identification of tools and tips for writing effective nonconformity statements.

Learners will apply the concepts covered during the course through practical application. Through working in groups, participants will review case studies on nonconformities, develop nonconformity statements relative to these scenarios and participate in a facilitator-led analysis of the nonconformity statements.

  • Define a nonconformity.
  • Understand the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) Cycle and continuous improvement.
  • Examine how internal audit and management review apply to the “check” stage of the PDCA Cycle
  • Apply the three parts to writing nonconformity statements.
  • Evaluate nonconformity statements.
  • Implementing the “Act” stage of the PDCA cycle in addressing nonconformities

Pre-requisites

Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 and basic knowledge of quality management systems could be an asset.
