Course Description

The ISO/IEC 17065:2012 standard outlines the internationally recognized requirements for bodies certifying products, processes, and services. This exciting offering from JANAAC will allow participants to gain an in-depth understanding of the standard and the application of the requirements, so that they will be empowered to make effective contributions to the certification processes. This will enhance the credibility, consistency, and effectiveness of certification bodies that assess and certify products, processes, and services, assist in increasing the efficiency of the organization and in realizing positive market differentiation. This course will also examine the use of results from other conformity assessment bodies, such as accredited Inspection Bodies and Laboratories, by the Certification Body to provide certifications.

· Learn the terms and definitions related to product, process, and service certification.

· Interpret and appreciate the intent behind the different requirements of the standard.

· Apply the standard in Job role.

· Understand the requirements to implement ISO/IEC 17065 to gain or maintain accreditation.

· Identify documents, best practices, and other resources to assist in understanding the standard.

· Use the conformity of this standard to provide confidence in the national and international certification of products, services, or processes.

Pre-requisites

Knowledge of conformity assessment concepts and quality management systems (ISO 9001 standard) would be an asset.
