JANAAC Pre-Accreditation Approval Programme
The Jamaica National Agency for Accreditation (JANAAC) Pre-Accreditation Approval Programme (PAAP) aims to fast-track the approval of those entities desirous of providing COVID-19 tests. This programme is specific for COVID-19 tests and provides a pathway to accreditation for public and private medical and testing laboratories that do not currently satisfy all the requirements of the respective international standard. The approval of entities by JANAAC will confirm their demonstrated competence to provide COVID-19 testing.
Goal and Objectives of JANAAC PAAP
The main goal of the JANAAC-PAAP is to increase stakeholder confidence in Jamaica’s COVID-19 testing capacity, assuring sustained quality healthcare outcomes to strengthen national COVID-19 prevention and containment strategies. JANAAC will support the national COVID-19 testing strategy by achieving the following objectives:
Verifying the safety and integrity of COVID-19 testing services and test results of JANAAC PAAP clients, ensuring they meet international requirements;
Confirming the adequacy of quality assurance and competence.
WHO SHOULD APPLY?
We invite the following entities to take advantage of the JANAAC PAAP:
- Unaccredited medical or testing laboratories that are interested in providing COVID-19 PCR and/or Antigen Tests;
- Point-of-Care Testing Providers such as (doctors’ offices, health centres, pharmacies) that wish to provide COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Tests.
